Building a Tabletop Vignette

I am experimenting with the principles I have learned on how to create a vignette. One of the first recommendations is to begin with a focal point - usually a light source. The next principle I'm practicing is using the Golden Ratio or Golden Mean principle - a fascinating mathematical equasion that looks like a spiral in a rectangle. You move from the focal point and add another decor item with it's height being half of the lamp. Then you graduate down and also include the principle of grouping items in odd numbers. Here's how I did it. http://www.adelightsomelife.com/2014/06/building-a-vignette.html
The completed look in our dining room - the theme is summer.
The first step- a focal point - the lamp
Add items by height. To bring the egg-shaped item to the right height I placed it upon two books with neutral binding. The bowl next to that was placed on a square vase turned upside down.
Adding items in odd numbers - research indicates that items grouped in odd numbers is more pleasing to the eye.
Applying the Golden Ratio to the arrangement of the decor items.
Bringing it all together - I added the faux greenery to unite the entire grouping. It was fun doing this experiment - I do like the arrangement and the blue and white theme for summer.
