Light colored wallpaper over medium brown painted walls- will it work?

Will the brown painted walls in my dining room show through my lighter beige colored wall paper I want to cover them with? If so, what's a way to know and an easy fix for it?

You could pin a sample on the wall and see if it shows through. If it does you could prime the wall first then put up our paper.

I think you should cover the darker wall color with Kilz paint in a lighter color

Wallpaper will sometimes shrink a bit once it dries completely. If this happens and you have dark brown underneath, you will see this. Please do yourself a favor and paint your walls the same color as the main body of your wallpaper.
