Antique mercury glass is not only hard to find and expensive it is toxic. Love the look, so here goes trying to replicate that old antique mercury glass look.
You can see a much better tutorial at the link below:

I scoured local gift and junk shops. I found these at Party Place.
Krylon Looking Glass Paint. It's a great product, but small can and a little expensive. When you start your project make sure the glass is very clean. I always paint the interior of my objects. Before painting make sure the glass is very dry. You can spray random spots with a little vinegar which keeps the silver paint from adhering to those spots.

Small sweeping sprays with many coats works better than trying to heavy coat. A heavy coat just drips and makes a mess. Make sure each coat is dry before re-applying.
I have seen this technique on the exterior of a piece and it doesn't look the same to me. I will always paint the interior of my glass.
I use a small piece of sandpaper and when the paint is dry I rough up random spots. Using crafters paint I will sponge paint the interior with black and sienna. These replicate old rusted areas of the mercury. Play till you get the look you love.

Thanks for the tip about the sandpaper and sponge painting. I made a couple of these and found out you can't use them for fresh flowers because the water will remove the paint. Do you know of any product to use on the inside to seal the looking glass paint?

@Michele Eures Hi Michele. I use a clear gloss waterproof sealer. We use it on concrete for as wet-on-wet look. I am experimenting right this minute. I will let you know the results. sk
