Reclaimed Fence Flags

We replaced a section of our fencing and I had to use the old wood for something. I'd purchased the flag in the first picture a few years back at a garage sale and it served as my inspiration piece. The top of our fence was originally dog-ear and were badly rotted so we cut rectangles out instead.
After my husband helped cut out the rectangles, I proceeded with painting them.
I watered down some red exterior paint that I had and painted that first.
Then I watered down some white and applied it.
I did not water down the blue because I wanted it to be a bit bolder. Since the wood was so old and dry it soaked in right away.
I made 5 of these over the course of about 2 nights, allowing the blue to dry overnight before stenciling the white stars. We gave these to family/friends and I foresee I'll be making more in the near future because everyone wants one and I still have fencing left!
