A Hurricane Safe Gnome Home

This old wood heater was actually bound for the land fill. I hate to throw things away. Too much stuff gets tossed out. In my case if I toss it I find a use for it later. Then I get frustrated with myself. We held off calling the scrap man. Later that nite my mind began yet another crazy journey. Suddenly a picture popped in my head and I could hardly wait for morning. While I was finishing my surprise coca cola cabinet for my hubby I asked a friend to move this 350 lb cast iron wood burning heater to my Fae Circle that I've been working on for 3 years.
The next process was really not fun but very necessary. I borrowed one of my hubby's sanders and began the arduous task of rust removal. Hint: wear long sleeves, safety glasses, a breathing shield and cover your hair. Phew this was very dirty. A good wipe down is necessary to remove the residual dust.
I began searching around our home and shop for things to add. An 8 ft shepperd hook was inserted into the smoke stack. It was the perfect place for a watering can. I found a couple of smaller hooks to hang baskets on. Three little signs proclaiming live, love and laugh proclaim the rules of Fae Land.
The details on this heater are awesome. The yellow and red coat of arms medallion inspired me to select the hanging baskets
