How to mount a barn quilt square on a brick house?
-
Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jun 30, 2014I would suggest that a frame be made to hold the barn quilt then using four plastic anchors and stainless screws drill into the grout part of the brick, hammer in the plastic anchors and screw the frame and mounted quilt on to the surface of the brick. You can drill into the brick itself, but if you ever remove the project, you would want to fill the holes, And mixing a small amount of cement and putting into the mortar between the bricks is a much better method of repair then trying to hide the holes in the brick. Also its much easier to drill into between the bricks then into the brick itself. For larger mounts you can put screws in middle of edge if needed. IF you do not want to go the frame route, you would still do the same thing, using screws, but you will also want to purchase what is called Fender Washers again made of Stainless steel so they do not rust but will provide a much larger surface to hold your quilt onto the wall. otherwise the smaller screw head will punch through the surface causing damage.1 marked as helpful Reply
