Budget Porch Decor

When my husband and I moved into our home a little over a year ago I knew I wouldn't be happy until I had turned out screened in porch into a haven where we could relax together in our evening!
I had in my mind that I wanted the porch to have the feel that you were stepping back in time. A porch that would look like my grandmother's might have.
I had in my mind that I wanted the porch to have the feel that you were stepping back in time. A porch that would look like my grandmother's might have.
The first step in this porch redo was painting the whole porch a bright white.
I didn't have any furniture for the porch, and this was going to be a budget project, so when our village had a week of free curbside trash pick up, I went hunting!
Now it was time to shop my home. I had collected a few vintage planters, vintage garden tools, and watering cans over the years. Now I had somewhere special to display them.
I filled an old chicken feeder that was from my father in-laws farm with flowers, added a butterfly house that my Dad had made several years ago and some old pots to create a garden vignette inside.
The curbside glider chair and my round thrift store table were both painted with leftover paints. My husband cut and added the pickets for me to give the table a cottage feel!
I dug out a vintage tablecloth and an old chenille bedspread to cover two plastic chairs that had been left behind by the previous owner.
The wooden chair and the blue shelf where given to me years ago by my in-laws.
After adding a few pieces of memorabilia to the shelves, I felt my Budget Porch Redo was complete. It's such a comfortable place to relax now, I'm even doing my posting from there.
