Creating a Grilling Area
This has served us well even if it doesn't look so nice--but I would dearly love to lay pavers throughout the entire area. The area holds the grill, the garden hose and a wooden bird pedestal--there would be no foot traffic of any kind other than whenever someone is cooking, so stress is minimal.
Please don't think less of me for asking but how can I do this on the cheap?

Rhonda B on Jun 30, 2014Just check your area Freecycle Group or Craigslist. People offer up pavers and bricks quite often and you could probably score some for free and all you would have to pay for is the paver sand (or you could use the rock if it is small enough).Helpful Reply

Funnygirl on Jun 30, 2014I am always trying to do things on the cheap. That's what makes it fun!!!Sounds like you have already started something very nice in your yard.I check Craig's list in the free section frequently. If you know exactly what you want, post a request for what you are looking for.I am always amazed how frequently when people decide they want to change or update their yards to add new features, will discard items they no longer have use for.Today I kayaked past a 2 million dollar house with a wooden bulkhead, normally most people would have lined it with expensive boulders,to protect the bulkhead, instead they had tossed giant broken up concrete which did an excellent job at no cost.Maybe not as attractive, but got the job well done.if you have access to sand, that will help to level out your pavers or whatever you decide to use.If you want something more solid, pulverized granite once it is wet becomes very solid,or the there is always good old concrete which you can purchase cheap at any hardware store. Some recycling centers give away ground glass that you can use on top for a more finished appearance. They can tell you how to apply it .Have fun with your project and good luck!!Helpful Reply

Cindy Carley on Jul 01, 2014We agree with the ladies above.......Craigslist is the best place to look. Another, idea would be to check in your phone book and see if you have a "factory defect" or "unclaimed freight" store in your town........sometimes they might have the items that a person is looking for and are "cheaply priced"! Good Luck!!Helpful Reply
