Kitchen Reveal - Dark Cabinets, Light Counters

(IC: blogger)
After 18 months of working on our kitchen, we finally finished it up. We stained the cabinets using Java Gel Stain by General Finishes, added new solid surface countertops, installed a wood-vein backsplash, added open shelving and purchased Frigidaire Gallery Smudgeless Stainless Appliances.
The kitchen before - basic, builder grade cabinets, counters and flooring.
The Kitchen After
Gel Stained Cabinets, Ikea Barstools, Solid Surface Countertops
Open Shelving is wonderful for unloading the dishwasher. Our most used dishes go right up there!
The new appliances are wonderful - they really are smudgeless!
We updated the island with stained, wide-plank beadboard and quarter round.
I just love my large, single bowl stainless steel sink. The soap pump is from Target and the dish towel is from Ikea.

Love the change to your kitchen. We are building a townhome and this is the color palette we are using except the backsplash is a subway tile in taupe.
