An Instant, Solid Wood 2x4 Tabletop That Lured Me Away From My Work

I love working outdoors on my patio on a nice day! But I had nothing to set my laptop on.
Upon going through my junk stash, all I had was a metal framed curb side find with a warped plywood top. Not cute.
But no worries... I just took another table apart for the wood, and topped this cutie with a few reclaimed 2x4s, to create a salvaged solid wood top... in minutes!
It's now a little beauty... that is doing anything but allowing me to work. Uh oh....

This rustic solid wood topped table took absolute minutes to create!
I found this sad little table on the curb. I saved it by adding a few reclaimed 2x4s that were cut down to size, then screwed in from the underside so the screws wouldn't show. (more pics on the blog link)
But I had to protect my little salvaged work of art, so I cut up a few chunks of firewood for instant coasters.
This was the easiest revamp in the world! The table is now pretty. Let's try it with the laptop...
Perfection! Let's get some work done! But my that coffee smells magnificent... and that pallet sofa so inviting. And the view out there...
I shall get right to work... after another cup...

~ lesa on Jul 10, 2014I comment with the utmost respect and humility in times of need, that often bare necessity. In this case, I think that the creator has a need to be creative, perhaps born through necessity and desire - producing inspiring results. I totally get what this artist has done and remind myself that when I throw random caution to the wind, the creative side magically comes alive. Thank you Donna, for what you do.
