NV87 on Jul 08, 2014Believe your fist lamp is called a "slag" lamp. Go over it carefull with a magnifying glass and see if you locate any identification on the structure of the shade or the bottom. Look closely around the area that is numbered. Google for a pic of a similar lamp and for locations of signature/branding. I have a slag lamp currently in for repair, it was my grandmother's and she died at age 102! My lamp took a tumble when I moved recently and the shade is out of round and one of the glass panels was already cracked although none of them broke when it fell. This repair shop said they can fix the glass panel (not replace but repair) and the shade and bring it into round. I'm picking it up saturday...not cheap ...$300 for the repair.Helpful Reply

NV87 on Jul 10, 2014Regarding the first lamp, I believe this is called a "slag" lamp. I would Google for information about where a signature or brand may be located and also try to see what the number represents. I think sometimes the ID is on the structure of the shade and/or the bottom of the lamp. Use a magnifying glass. I have a slag lamp that is currently in for repair (it took a tumble when I recently moved and the shade is out of round, one of the glass panels was already cracked, they say they can fix this too, we'll see on Saturday when I pick it up). Not an inexpensive repair ($300) but it too belonged to my grandmother when she passed at age 102!Helpful Reply

Caitlin | Belong With Wildflowers on Aug 14, 2014Are there any other identifying seals, marks, trademarks, or information on the lamps? I'd check at the base of the lamp, on the underside, and possible up top where the light bulb goes.Helpful Reply
