What do I do with the leather on this end table?

The top of the table is leather. It looks like the circles are liquid stains, and the large dark brown spot looks like someone ripped off some of the leather. Another thing, should I buy it? I have seen it on Craigslist?

Chalk paint it...maybe two tone the table. I have a phone bench that has the same thing. I'm going to paint that and the legs the same color...or at least that's my thought now but, totally easy to paint with it. Just wipe clean. That's it. Hope this helps...:)

Didn't notice that there was a snag or rip...sand it as smooth as you can or heck, decoupage it!

I have used chalk paint on the leather and I have also used fabric over the leather and painted the base with chalk paint. It will be very pretty!

I have a table just like that, from my great aunts house. There must be a way to fix the leather top without painting, this true antique.

I have used leather dye and/or shoe polish to renew leather on furniture. Sometimes it takes several coats followed up with a couple more clear coats of wax. Good luck, the table has so much potential no matter if you restore or paint!

Beautiful piece, I would replace the leather. I would buy it. A leather piece that size shouldn't cost alot

There are leather restore products out there. If there is a small tear find a glue that lists leather. I have had some in the past. Restore after gluing. If rings don't go away, use leather dye on it. It is a beautiful piece.Hope you get a good deal on it.

I removed the very damaged leather top, I couldn't get all the glue off so I unscrewed the top from the base . I sanded it smooth then used a paint and glaze treatment to achieve a stained look. I just love it.

First remove the leather, refinish it and when done, replace the leather.

YOU COULD TRY TO MAKE THE LEATHER LOOK BETTER BY - Stripping off the finish and then dye it a darker colour, or maybe use Shoe polish the right colour to try to blend it in, or Paint the leather or Strip it off - or cover it with faux leather or Contact etc.. Should you buy it - Do you think you can fix it at a price that you will be happy paying? Ofcourse you could always take it to a furniture restorer or a Leather expert to give you a price............
