Every year I swear the container garden will be "just a few" pots. Never quite turns out that way, does it? Here is a look at how we went about creating this year's container garden wall.

For 2014, we started with a basil inspired color scheme - purple and green.
Acquired some great discount store pots with self-watering trays. To give them a bit of kick, we taped off the edges and watering holes then painted them purple.
The army of seedlings came off the windowsills and outside for the first time. We gave them a few days outside to adjust and reduce transplant shock.
We planted each tomato and pepper with companion plants. Spicy and sweet basil varieties are our favorites.
Draped sparkling beads between the pots to keep the birds away.
But we do welcome the bees. Here's one enjoying our heirloom lemon cucumber vine.
