Roadside Tanker Desk and DIY Wood Restorer

I found this Tanker Desk on the side of the road and had no idea it was a little piece of American history. After some online research I discovered its story and a free DIY wood restorer that worked surprisingly well. (Only two ingredients that I already had in my kitchen.) See what some designers are doing with these desks and what I decided to do with mine. Also, read the dramatic (and slightly embarrassing) rescue story.
This is how she looked when I found her.
Close up you can see some of the damage.
More damage.
One of the desk drawers before . . .
And after using the DIY wood restorer.

Go for it! I liked the remakes, particularly the orange one, but what you plan to do is fresh and easy to live with.

I have this exact same desk! Same legs, drawers, and pull outs! Almost threw it out but glad I saved it! I have new interest now!!
