Dining Room Color Change

We've lived in our 100 year-old Craftsman home for 10 years. When we moved here each room was a blank slate painted white - even some of the light fixtures! I've always loved the look of red dining rooms and looked forward to having one of my own. But, now, I'm ready for a change - I'm leaning toward blues, beiges and grieves. Given the opportunity to review Valspar Reserve - a paint/primer combination - I jumped at the chance.
The dining room painted Valspar Peaceful Slumber - trim Asiago and ceiling - Oatlands Subtle Taupe.
Dining Room before: one of the things I was greatly concerned about was covering this beautiful deep red (Southern Beauty Red). I truly thought I'd have to prime first then apply a few layers of paint.
cutting in the walls I discovered that the paint was quite thick - like batter. The coverage was amazing!
This is how the walls looked after the first coverage of paint - on the left - dried and on the right wet - it goes on a bit light in color and dried true to the color I chose. Nearly completely covering the red! I did do a second coat - basically to cover where my painting strokes were light. My walls are plaster as well, so they have a texture like an orange peel.
I'm loving the new look! Now, the blue is just what I'd imagined.
My daughter brought these two Sunflowers from her boyfriend's family farm - she and my husband were inspired when walking into the newly painted room to break out into song, 'Oh, What a Beautiful Morning' - from the musical, 'Oklahoma'! I completely agree!

beautiful color! I'm agonizing over a dining room color and I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've never liked the sage green painted it when I was gone over the weekend. Anybody have any good suggestion? My furniture is cherry modern mission stylIt's a small room with a low hutch and simple sofa table.
