The Legend Of The Sand Dollar

When I was gathering items for my beach mantel decor I ran across some ceramic sand dollars that I had picked up, somewhere, sometime. I don't even remember where they came from! Does that happen to you?
When I saw them, I remembered, that many years ago, my mother had a shadow box with a real sand dollar in it with a poem that was on the wall in the hallway of our home. I remembered walking past it many times and stopping to read it
As always, most of my table decor comes from thrift stores and from sales and and seasonal clearance. Tablescaping need not be expensive to be meaningful.
I used my go-to thrifted woven placemats and then layered on an oversized dinner plate I got at Goodwill several years ago.
For the centerpiece I filled a large round vase with sand and sea shells and a chunky pillar candle.
The poem, just as I remember it.
