TERRY F on Jul 13, 2014thanks, we have discussed that and that seems like a lot of elbow grease that we just don't have anymore. Guess I was looking for an easier solution, although your plan would probably be the longer better lasting.Helpful Reply

Darla on Jul 14, 2014If you just sand the rough or splintery spots and dust and clean it well, you can apply the coating with a new mop rather than brushing it on. Shouldn't be much harder than mopping the floor. It probably won't look professional if you don't sand the whole thing, but it will protect it so dirt doesn't get ground into the wood. Or you could use a tung oil based finish the same way.Helpful Reply

Therese Ryan-Haas on Jul 15, 2014Al least get a quote to see how much to finish it. Most will give free quotes. But other than a magic fairy or what others have said. There is no easy way around it.Helpful Reply
