Ever since I bought a house my parents and grandparents have gotten in the habit of giving me boxes of junk every time I see them, and because I'm such a hoarder only about half of it makes it into the donation pile.
In the most recent box, was an old rooster serving tray-- which was in good structural condition but completely not my style and a little banged up.

I think the quote makes this upcycle just a little bit more fun. Just load up the tray with some hot cocoa supplies and wrap- a perfect, thoughtful gift for the holidays!
BEFORE: The rooster tiles were totally not me, and the sides were a little bubbly and scratched so I decided to paint it. I used Zinsser spray primer and Rustoleum Lagoon spray paint, then painted the tile white.
It was just a little too blah after I painted it, so I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out some vinyl letters and then I coated it with 2 coats of poly to seal.
I think it's SO much fresher and more fun now, what about you?
Enjoyed the project?
