Outdoor lighting suggestions

I need some opinions on outdoor lighting! I need a hanging pendant in front of the door, and then a matching wall mount above the slider. Here are my thoughts so far...any suggestions or opinions would be great!
Here's our house currently. I need a hanging light pendent in front of the door, and a wall mount above the slider up top.
Here is the first choice. It has a matching wall mount and it has a really cool flower design on the bottom.
The second choice is what I call the fishbowl lights. I like these too.

With the style of your house, any of the lights you have shown would work fine. Just make sure you have enough clearance for the door! Lights add a lot to a home, but I have found that they also draw insects. I have a cream colored house and they make nasty spots on my paint. So we put up white rope Christmas lights on the ledge inside the porch...they do not draw bugs!

@Creatively Living If you attach the lights behind the facia on the porch so all that is seen is a glow, it is very pretty. The good thing is it gives enough light to come up the steps and to offer some security. Also, it is less expensive to run these lights. We leave ours on all the time!

If it were my home, I'd choose #1 - love the lines of the metal accent. So graceful.

#1 is my vote and rope lights are a nice addition around porches. We'll be putting solar ones on our new front deck.

    I like the second choice

Both are very nice. I prefer the look of the first one but I am not good enough to tell if it is a better look for your house...will wait for the after pics

I also like the first one, guess it depends on the size. Your house is adorable looks like it should be on a beach somewhere.

Call me Crazy but I would put up a crystal chandelier and matching wall sconces It is dramatic yet elegant. People always use those outdoor lighting things that I always find ugly and boring. But I am pretty eccentric and eclectic.

I think recessed lights in the eaves would be wonderful. Put under eaves of porch, and also roofline. Keeps bugs away from the doors and showcase the lines of the house.

Love the look of your house. I think somewhat of a craftsman style lighting. Check out hgtv.com show curb appeal. They have some makeovers with your style home. I tried to copy a rod iron style lantern from their site but copying failed. Something with a darker color would show up nicely with your front door.

@Jim Marciano Thanks for your input! I still haven't decided. We moved on to painting the house and I'm still rolling them around in my head....although I'm leaning towards the "fish bowl" one.

Your first choice would be my choice.

We went with motion sensing lights. Lowes had a very good selection and they don't all look so ugly anymore. But I live in a bad neighborhood so they are sort of necessary.
