I made a place for keys, candles, messages, hats, charging station, and umbrellas in our entry hall. I hung two bi fold doors on either side of a shelf added trim between at the top and painted it all white. I then added a recycled lace curtain to the shelf I lined with muslin and have a small free standing shelving underneath for storage.
On one side I hung an old wooden calendar holder that I made into a bulletin board and attached a small shelf to the bottom. Under the shelf I added hooks to hold our keys and made push pins for notes with vintage buttons. I used foam core covered with muslin for the bulletin board and stamped the fabric first with French themed rubber stamps and permanent ink.
I made a bird nest wall hanging that I hung on the right door made from an old kitchen cabinet door. I attached a vintage copy of April in Paris and bird nests I printed with my computer. Used Mod Podge to seal it, then glued real stick bundles and vintage buttons.
On the floor next to the area I added an old well bucket I sealed with Mod Podge to stop the rusting, added pearls and flowers and use it to hold umbrellas. Lots of storage and decoration on a 12 inch deep space.
Then I added my vintage knick knacks to complete the area.
