Build a Garage Door
-
Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 17, 2014If your door is pretty much the same size as most, it would be much cheaper to simply purchase one from a home center and install. There is a lot of labor that would go into building a wood door that is strong enough to not bow when lifted and light enough to lift. Also if you were to go the sliding door route, the hardware alone would close to the cost of buying the new door itself. Unless you need to just fix a single panel, its just not worth all that extra effort to go the DIY route.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jul 17, 2014Woodbridge is right on. I had neighbors who tried to DIY a garage door and ended up with a mess and almost divorce. Garage doors at Lowe's or Home Depot are relatively inexpensive around $250 for a basic 8' door. good luckHelpful Reply
