Vanity Set

I need ideas on how to refinish this vanity set. While I realize that it's not a high quality set, it does have sentimental value. Thank you in advance for your help:-)

I like it the way it is... But, you could embellish it with jewels...fancy type buttons...or possibly paint...

You could use some patterned paper and mod podge? That would look nice! There's lots of different patterned paper out there! Inexpensive too!

for the mirror you could use patterned paper and for the handles, you could spray paint them any colour you like, or a colour that would go with the patterned paper???

why not arrange it in a shadow box with a photo of who it belonged to or some text telling it's history? it's nice as it is.

I love vintage dresser sets. I would just clean it up a bit, display it against old lace or tatting. On a dresser or dressing table it would be lovely, but, I like the shadow box idea, too.

I like Evelyn's idea, place in a shadow box with some history.

Shadow box...my mother put her own mother's silver dresser set into a vanity box...it is beautiful way to preserve something sentimental.

What a beautiful set Mikki. Have you tried polishing it with Brasso?

Don't do a thing to it but put it on a mirror with a filigree frame. Or lay out (as if for use) in a picture frame with a glass on it (so you don't have to clean it all the time) and hang it on the wall as décor. Don't you clean it and if you have it done professionally make sure of their reputation.
