I bought four white dining chairs and I am going to reupholster them and either paint the chairs or strip them and stain them. What would be the easiest since my dining table is a chestnut color? Any ideas??

Hi Sheila! Could you upload a photo of your table and chairs? That will make it easier for other hometalkers and myself to give you better answers and ideas! You can add photos by clicking the upper right drop arrow and select "edit" (see screenshot). Hope this helps! :)

This is the second time that I have looked today. Hanna had suggested that you post a photo, but you haven't. Please, post a photo so that we can see what you/we are working with.

if you want a formal dining space,I would stain them,or paint them with a metallic paint.I would paint with a primer paint first. If your space is more casual,I like a painted surface. after they are painted or stained you will need to apply a urethane product.Or,chalk paint is very popular,no primer needed.Chalk paint has a flat finish ..Most people apply wax to the finished piece.

Thank you Funnygirl for answering I don't know much about chalk paint but I am leaning towards staining them even though it's alot of work if I could find something thats not so much work stripping etc. I think I would go with that my house is Tuscan decor. Thanks again!!!
