Will I get to savor the sweet Gardenia Aroma?

Douglas Hunt on Jul 23, 2014It does indeed look like a gardenia. They really want acidic soil, so I would mulch with pine straw and use a good slow-release fertilizer for acid-loving plants, like Hollytone.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jul 23, 2014whatever you do do not move it-i find if they like a spot, leave it be. they do love being under oaks (and pines) and need mulched to keep soil fairly moist and not dried out. I have several around here and there wherever i can get room LOL In GA you guys have an abundance of pine needles (that was one thing I found I did not like) once a gardenia establishes itself in the hard clay it will grow. Mine went up to 5' before the last winter killed part of it. Happy gardening! and hope she at least blooms a bloom for you!Helpful Reply
