Pallet Starter Garden

I haven't had any luck growing Vinca's (they say they are easy to grow) , but like I said I have had no luck with them. I just love all the colors they bring and their cute little blooms.
I have tried for many years to get these to grow, buying starters and planting them directly to the garden with no luck. They either get too leggy or the tender little petals seem to be "quite the treat for the snails." A couple of years ago I took a pallet and made a herb garden out of it and never really kept it up. to see more on this you can go herehttp://www.onemoretimeevents.com/2014/07/pallet-starter-garden.html

So the pallet was recycled into a starter garden to grow them slowly and for easy maintenance in hopes I could get them stronger before transferring them.
Then I added a couple of Ikea planters I refinished to the sides of the pallet.
Vinca's require shade and part sun and since this area gets the morning sun and afternoon sun, a shutter was used at the top of the pallet creating a roof. The shutters work great, since they can be adjusted allowing just the right amount of sunlight to come through and can be closed for the afternoon sun
