X Farmhouse Bench

I am in the process of making over our dining room and I needed an economical solution to seating. For less than $50 I was able to create an X styled Farmhouse bench for our dining table made from plans by Anna White. I had never built any type of furniture but I was determined I could do it.
I went to HomeDepot with my list of wood sizes I needed provided by Anna White via her Fancy X Bench plan.
It took me about 2.5 hours to measure, mark, and measure again then cut all the pieces with my hubby's miter saw. I was almost able to do it on my own but some of the pieces of wood were too long for me to hold and cut at the same time so I had a little assistance with that.
Kreg Tools sent me their Kreg Jig to complete the project. The Jig was so easy to use that my 10 year old helped.
This ended up being a family affair. There was just no way I could attach the pieces I needed by myself so hubby came out to hold things for me. It took around 2.5 hours to put it all together.
I finished the seat off with a custom finish I created with white washing, stain and a heat gun.
It was the perfect addition to our dining room table. Our boys sit here and it is so easy for them to get in and out without disturbing each other.
