Paying Me to Paint!

Headboards that were in a friend's house she inherited and wanted to re-use in her twin's room. She asked me to do something with them. I decided to use chalk paint.
She was matching existing bedding, so I had to have a custom color for the paint. I decided to make my own chalk paint so the color would match exactly. I loved the way it worked and it was the most inexpensive recipe! I found the recipe on:
I gave them a good sanding and cleaning, paying attention to the grooves. You don't want to leave any dust, as it will keep the paint from adhering properly and when you start distressing, it will cause it to roll up.
I painted them with a sponge brush to cut down on brush marks and I let them dry overnight, as I had never worked with homemade chalk paint and wanted to be sure it had dried completely.
