Growing grass seed, and forgot to rake first.

Brenda Swanson on Jul 27, 2014Tried something new this year while spreading grass seed in a hard to grow area. I threw out my grass seed, then covered it lightly with top soil. It's the best stand I have every got!Helpful Reply

Ann Peters on Jul 27, 2014I am familiar with your area of the country (my sister lives in Bremerton) so I believe you can rake it in if it hasn't started to germinate. Cover it w/ straw or soil and keep it moist at all times and it should be fine. The key is to get it up before your weather changes. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 28, 2014Just rake it lightly. But its not critical if you do not. It will just take a bit longer for the seed to develop the root structure into the soil. You will need to be a bit more careful when it begins to grow.Helpful Reply
