new plants I planted hibiscus

the first one I planted turned yellow pulled that one out but, the rest r doing ok.

I tried growing hardy hibiscus. One didn't come up last year, and one did and was beautiful. Then the second didn't come up this year -- totally gone. Any suggestions?
