Kitchens Painting

Painted my kitchen ceiling a light blue.

I was apprehensive at first, but now that it's done it's so tranquil. With the white cabinets going all the way to the ceiling, I felt it needed something to break it up.

I'm so glad you posted this picture! I've been considering painting some ceilings blue in our house, and this is far better than visualization! The white cabinets really pop against the blue ceiling.

Great idea -- thought about this years ago - before I even owned a home -- couldn't figure out why ceilings had to be white. People thought I was weird -- truely does look really nice. Thank you for posting -- You probably like being in your kitchen even on a rainy day. ( :

Very soft and restful, and better than all white. Great idea!

I like this too! I think I have painted my last white ceiling! We bought that expensive paint that has the primer/sealer in it that was to go on in one coat and it was so thick it covered only about half the spece expected, took twice as much as we planned and we still had to go back and buy regular ceiling paint for the second coat! We wound up spending over twice what we would have spent had we primed with kilz and then painted 1 coat! Some things just have to be primed...no way around it...and ceilings is one of them!

I love this..very nice and refreshing. My granddaughter's room, now our guest room has light green on the walls and lavender on the ceiling, prettiest room in the house, and yes, I believe it is due to the painted ceiling! I love this

@jeannette...ready to paint our ceilings, they are dirty, I will remember your advice about priming first. It has been many years since they were painted.

I love a blue ceiling! I have them in my sunroom, front porch, and bathrooms! Looks fab with the white cabinets.
