Easy Care for Your Rock or Stone Home Siding

Rock or stone siding is a beautiful addition to a home. It makes for a finished look that has an upscale feel to it.
With all of the small grooved in-between the rock, it can also be a great place for dirt and debris to collect, mildew to grow, even a place where a spider or insect might want to build a home. Keeping your siding clean will not only make your home look good, but it will help make it last longer.
Here is some basic advice on how to keep your stone siding looking fresh and new.
1. Power-wash once a year. Professionals are recommended as inexperienced individuals using a power-washer can cause damage.

2. Use non-abrasive cleaners when wanting to clean in a little more detail. No acidic elements or anything that could case deterioration should be used. A simple water-soap (such as dish soap) can be used. Be sure to rinse thoroughly.

3. Use a soft brush. Some brushes can scratch or crack the stone. A brush with metal bristles or a wire sponge will be too harsh for your home siding.

4. Rinse thoroughly.
