Living Room Progress: Painted Fireplace Brick

When we moved into our house, our living room felt like a cave. It was painted a dark brown color and even though there is a LARGE picture window, the room felt dark and drab. I think I fixed that!
I painted the walls Driftwood Grey by Martha Stewart. Sometimes it reads a little blue but mostly grey.
Mostly recently, I set my sights on that fireplace. It had been whitewashed and was looking way too purple/blue for my linking. I painted it bright white and I love how it turned out!
I think this room is lightening up nicely now! (Say hello to my photobombing kitty, Alley Cat :-) I already had all the supplies on hand, so all it cost me was time.
My next project is sprucing up this gallery wall! It's uninteresting and I'd like it to detract from the TV. What do you think? Have you ever painted brick? Hop on over to Houseologie.com to see the whole process and learn a few tips and tricks to make the job easier.
