Replacing an above ground pool with patio

We have an above ground pool set into a patio. We must relocate for health reasons but we did not know what to do with the pool. We elected to remove the pool and replace by extending the deck. The pool is 16 x 32 oblong so it is going to be quite a job. We thought we would remove the lining only which will leave the lip around the pool. Any ideas where I might find a design for such a structure. We live in N. Ontario fairly remote area so it will be a DIY project.

This sounds like something @Deck and Patio Company "Outdoor Living Experts" might be able to help with! :)
  • If you remove the pool can put steps going down and setting with a fire pit in it be nice for the winter

Thank you Natalie but a fire pit would not work there because of all the wood on the deck. We pretty much have to cover it.

Have you thought about cutting off and removing that end of the deck, put up new railing and planting a small tree in the bare spot with some interesting small plantings? Sometimes it is best to just demolish rather than try to reuse! You could have the edge shored up with new posts set in concrete and then close it off with railing. A cleaning of the old deck and some staining would blend it all together. A built in bench at the end and up a little on the sides would add seating, and brightly colored cushions and pillows would make it look larger. Dress it out nicely and you will have a beautiful space.

I'm confused 🤷‍♀️ are you relocating as in moving? If so, why not leave the pool for the new owner/s?
