Mystery plant?

Myrna Engle on Aug 01, 2014No, that is Monarda. Anise has a long thin purple flower also, but not near as showy. Monarda smells strange when you crush a leaf. Sometimes it's called O'sage Tea.It grows wild in Central Texas and there are many slight differences. It grows from near white to greenish white to pale pink and all the way to the beauty you see here.Helpful Reply

Patches on Aug 02, 2014Myrna thanks for taking time to post! I've asked for a better photo of the planter but I'll bow to your greater knowledge! I'm just beginning to learn more about herbs as my knowledge is currently limited to what I use for cooking. I am hoping to use a lot of healing herbs...next week I should be ready to make oil of oregano!Helpful Reply
