Taking out garden tub and building cabinets in it's place.

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Aug 04, 2014The cost will be dependent upon many factors. How fancy and complicated do you want the storage/closet system to be? Wood working prices can range quite a bit. Although I do not suggest having this done, unless you have another tub in the home. In some cases as we get older, a easy as a shower is, sometimes our bones need a good soaking. And you may end up needing a walk in tub. The only other way around this is to have the storage system be built over the tub and enclose it. While leaving it in place. So if sometime down the line you find you do still need it, or decide to sell, the tub is still in place and all that is needed is to remove the built in that covers the tub and wall surround system.Helpful Reply

Cathy Murphy on Aug 04, 2014@2 results are available, use up and down arrow keys to navigate.Theresa Tucker We did this in our last home, but we didn't build cabinets. We took out the big tub and installed new flooring and a shower. We also painted, bought a new vanity, faucets, mirror, etc. and it all was a little over $1,000. My husband is a plumber so he did all the work. Unless you want built-in cabinets it would be less expensive if you could use premade shelves, a china cabinet, dresser or something. Just an idea.Helpful Reply

Theresa Tucker on Aug 04, 2014Thank you. It must be nice to have a man who can do things. I hope to do something soon. Right now they have ripped out all the carpet and will be finished with the hard wood flooring Wednesday.Helpful Reply
