Pavers for cheap?
-
Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Aug 01, 2014The recipe for pavers is simple . Cement. The rest is not so easy. You would need to make forms that you would put the cement in, then take them apart so you can remove the paver. What type of paver are you interested in? Check around for recycling companies that often demo homes. They may be able to provide you with some of these if your willing to take a large amount of soil and debris with them. It would be up to you to separate what they dump in your driveway and then you would need to dispose of the garbage soils. This is not an easy undertaking. Pavers are often very heavy, can destroy a pair of gloves in about 20 min. Most paving contractors use duct tape on their fingers as its the only thing that does not fall apart when handling them.Helpful Reply

Moxie on Aug 02, 2014I agree with Woodbridge; you could make them. You may want to consider a paver look with stenciled stain on concrete or sacrete makes a metal frame template to make pavers as you go with their product that people like..check out their site. Polymer sand mix brushed in the top joints of the paver joints will help them last and decrease weed issues. Keep your eyes open for demo projects as well...sometimes you can get removed materials for free if you offer the labor to remove.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Aug 03, 2014I read on HT where someone said her father used nails and stuff to use as re-enforcement for pavers he made. I have also read that spraying the mold with Pam makes it come off easier...??? Also, there are flexible molds that can be found. Good luck! Post your results. Keep in mind that you could always dig out and make wooden forms to make "pour in place" pavers.Helpful Reply
