Our basement is just about finished (hoping to get a floor laid soon!) and we use it as a huge movie room with 7 speaker surround sound. In addition to adding some soundproofing to the walls, my husband built a subwoofer isolation pad to minimize rattling and vibration.
It's a tiny little thing the makes a huge difference in sound, and they're crazy expensive if you don't make your own.
the supplies- besides the foam soundproofing everything can easily be bought a Big Orange or Big Blue home improvement stores.
step 1: attaching the "feet"
make sure to add a nail every few inches, which seems like overkill but again the point is to minimize vibrations so you want this thing to be as flush as possible.
step 3: adding on the adhesive so you can attach the pad!
