Pruning Mophead Hydrangeas
by
Walter Reeves
(IC: homeowner)
For those of us in GA, mophead hydrangea flowers have faded and are not very attractive. The 30 days after flowers fade is the perfect time to prune mophead hydrangeas if needed. I pruned mine last year and documented the process.

Erica Glasener on Jun 25, 2012It looks as if you pruned them back by 1/3? Do you prune them every year?

Suzette Trimmer on Aug 23, 2015I love Hydrangea as much as the next gardener my only issue is to deadhead or NOT to dead head. I have read and tried everything and still I just don't not know whether to cut off the dried out tops or not? Please, if anyone can help I am so open to all or any advice.
