Plastic Ceiling Medallion Turned Gorgeous Mirror!

Amy Bricker Sumila
by Amy Bricker Sumila
I took a plain white plastic ceiling medallion I found at restore for $5 and turned it into a beautiful mirror!
Plain white plastic.
3 layers of paint
First a light silver color was spray painted on, after that dried I brushed on some white chalk paint, really working it into the creases and then wiped it off with a damp rag before it dried so that it only stayed in the cracks.
With mirror in place!
Then I took some gold craft paint and with a paper towel rubbed it on the top parts to highlight. Hot glued a $1 mirror onto a saucer I had spray painted gold then glued that onto the medallion! Pretty happy with it!

I have a small medallion that I purchased years ago when we remodeled, and then didn't need to use it after all. I'm cleaning some areas out (downsizing) and came across it and had seen a post like this recently, so I found a pkg of 2 small mirrors at Hobby Lobby and plan to do this very thing. Glad I came across your post also! Yours looks beautiful.

Dramatic effect but manageable to do. Lover the idea! Thanks for sharing!
