Where to ask for help with project...

We are wanting to add a rather extensive deck with multilevels, along with a screened porch that ideally would be tied into the roofline of the house. We know we need some professional design work, but are having a hard time finding someone who does both decking and the structural work, along with some minimal landscape planning. A landscape architect? A remodeling contractor? A deck company? Where do we go? Ideally we would love to have a someone both design and build/oversee the project.

A regular home designer or architect because you will be tying into house roof. Most will also work with who you choose to actualy do the work.

Would you think a regular architect as opposed to a landscape architect? On a previous project, a shade structure that also tied in with the roof, we used a landscape architect, but so far the people we have spoken to just don't seem to "get" what we are trying to do... Different location, so can't return to the same company...

@Ellen It's the architect's job to draw it so that builder can understand. I've been married to one for mant years now. He's done some work for the Cotton co-op in Texas but we're here in Montgomery, Alabama. Most won't charge you to come look at your place unless you're in the middle of nowhere. You tell them what you want to do and they'll draw it up for the builder. Trust me when it comes to tying into your house you don't want any mistakes.

Perhaps you need to contact a "remodeling" company. There are companies that can get everything done, however, they are usually expensive. Good luck!
