Wow, great job Nikki! -
What a beautiful and inviting difference. Love the use of the ladder! -
Thanks everyone! I'm very happy with the makeover, especially since I did it all myself. Nancy, if you have the time and desire I'm sure you could build a table all on your own, too. A couple of pallets, a 4x4 cut to make four legs, a sander, a can of stain, some screws and wheels, and you're golden! My hubby's so proud of me that he has been bringing the neighbors over showing off my woodworking "skills"! -
Be careful-you might get a router or something for your anniversary! lol -
You go girl! Now you have a very pleasant retreat. Way to use your creativity! -
Thanks for the instructions Nikki! One nice thing about your table - you could put a large tray on it when serving drinks, etc. Now to hunt down some pallets, I hear they are easy to find. -
A woman loves a man with dish pan hands . . .a Man loves a woman who has power tools - AND KNOWS HOW TO USE 'EM!!! -
Pretty darn cool! Love the pallet table, Have pallets lying around, will have to make that same table. Think I might add glass for the top. You go girl.

THIS COULD BE MY READING COVE NICE -
Great makeover! Love to reuse/recycle things, especially when it turns out well!! -
This looks like a nice place to hide out on a warm day! Good job!

Looks great. It looks very cool & calm. Enjoy & be proud of yourself, you did a great job. -
Extremely creative! Very inspiring, I wonder where I could do something like that. I'll definitely keep some of your ideas in mind!

Such a relaxing spot, wish I could think of such clever ideas, but I am glad there are people like you to get ideas from. Enjoy! -
LOVE! Especially the lanterns and the pallet table. Oh .. .and the pappasan chairs! Heck, I love it all! Thanks for sharing. -
@Teresa D - What do ya say we go CRASH out on their patio??? They'll probably never notice we're there!! ;~) -
@Susan S .. I'll bring the wine spritzers! lol -
I assume that is a chiminea in the picture?? Do you burn in it even though you are under something?? I have one similar - I do have one spot that is not under the addition - could ut it at that ed - or..I might just move it to my sitting area - for a conversation piece - don't want to burn the house down!! Nothing beats a cozy outdoor space to hang out!! -
Teresa D and Susan S, come on over! I'll provide the chips and guac! :-) Jan P, that is a chiminea. We haven't used it yet in its new location, so I'm not sure how the smoke will travel from underneath the deck. I'll let you know soon. My kids are begging for a smores night! -
I have a question. We live in Southeast Texas and it is very hot and humid here. How do you keep your chair cushions from becoming covered in mildew? I have had no luck with this in the past. Any suggestions would be appreciated. -
My problem with having my chiminea under would be the fact that when I get mine going the flames shoot out the top!! Maybe if I just burn little twigs! lol!! Maybe you will need a fan or something to blow the smoke away... -
Love that table. I have a lot of pallets from when we paved our driveway. I'm going to put them to use thanks to this idea! -
Janice J., I've been researching the same problem. We close to the east coast and humidity is very bad here. Our cushions are looking a little icky...

Cynthia, good luck with your table! It's actually really easy to build. Janice and Peggy, I haven't had that problem. It's pretty dry here in "HOTlanta"! I've read that waterproofing spray for fabric might work though.
