Outdoor Rock & Brick Fireplace

We wanted a vintage look for the newly built fireplace. Something that looked like it had always been here. It took a bit of time and energy to build- but it is just about finished! More photos and information at my blog http://frenchcountrycottage.blogspot.com/201...

LOVE THIS!! The grey looks really really good - but once you added the sealer - that was the crowning touch. So the sealer was tinted? Could not find anything that gave specifics except to say it was a sealer. And . . . . your peonies are at peek performance and mine have been long gone!!! This is outstanding!!!!

Thank you Miriam and Susan! :) I actually haven't sealed the rock yet- it was just dusted off a bit- but I'll let you know what we use!

????? Ok, so if you haven't sealed it yet, why do the rocks look grey in two of the photos and in the last it looks like a rusty brown??? I like the brown!!

I think it is maybe because some of the photos were taken a little later in the evening with the chandelier on- and so they are appearing darker. We should be sealing it this next week- I like the darker look too :)

Isn't it always more work?! lol!! Not leaving it grey- I am looking for the darker look too- once we get ALL the leftover mortar off the rocks- sealing time!!! I'll share the updated photos when it's done. :)
