Painting Farmhouse Furniture

I'm always learning new ways to paint. I paint furniture and signs almost every day. This week I found a spray paint shortcut for "the black weathered and worn look."
Because I love the farmhouse style, that means painting chairs with spindles.
Hand brush + Spindles = Takes Forever. I found a way to speed things up a bit.
I did apply the first coat of black semi-gloss with a brush. This leaves a streaky look. Next I lightly sprayed over with dollar general black spray paint. It is not heavy, so it gives the perfect application.

You can leave the black and brown streaks showing wherever you want and quickly cover the spindles. yay! Love the finish too.
Enjoyed the project?
