Repurposed Lamps Into Patio Solar Lights
Old lamps are easy to find at thrift stores--you may even have a lamp in storage you're not using. The newfangled solar lights now charge in the shade, making it so much easier to use them on patios and porches.
I love the new solar lights, they charge in the shade, come in lots of different styles, and they are easy to take apart and repurpose into useful outdoor lighting.
This is the awful lamp I started with, but couldn't pass it up at the thrift store when I saw the price tag. $5.00 woohoo! going home with me!
After a little prep with a wire brush and some Krylon Dual Superbond with Paint and Primer, it was ready for some new lights. I gave it a test drive with the same ones I used for a previous makeover (chandelier). But I didn't like them as much on the lamp as I did on the chandy.
I think these lights fit the style of the lamp better, since it's old. More details and another great lamp/solar light over on the blog.

I have a lamp that looks just like the one you started with & I’ve been meaning to rewire it. BUT, I am going to take your brilliant idea 💡 & make my own solar lamp!!!
