I have a problem with blowing rain coming in my back door

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Aug 14, 2014There may be 2 possible solutions I can think of- 1) put on a good quality storm door which seals when it is closed and /or 2) put an awning up or portico or porch type cover up over the door. Hope this gives you some help.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Aug 16, 2014Every opening to your home should have a small protective covering and if you face the direction from which most of the rain comes in, you may want to put in a larger one. It can be slightly above the door and sufficiently deep an wide. It may take some money and learning skills, but it is a lot cheaper than tearing out the back wall to replace rot!Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Aug 19, 2014Donn, you may need to re-caulk around the frame of the door. It eventually degrades and has to be scraped away and replaced. This happens to us around windows and doors on occasion and we have to replace it.Helpful Reply

Grandmasue10 on Dec 24, 2015If rain comes in, air does too. See the solutions to the gal with the drafty patio door. I like the bubble wrap/duct tape solution. Of course, caulking should be done also.Helpful Reply
