This is Why We Paint Wood Furniture

This is an antique dresser with great detail that you can't see. Agree?
Yes I took a tiny artist brush and patiently hand painted in the grooves of this detail.
People are always saying to me "Why would you paint good wood furniture?"
Well you are about to see why I do.
I painted this piece with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen and Old White. French Linen is a beige/grey. Beautiful color. So versatile.
This is the lovely color I painted the inside of the drawers.
Check out the detail on this piece after I painted it. It POPS!!!
I used the original hardware and just cleaned them up. The patina was so great on them.
The inside of the drawers were a sight as well. Lots of removing peeling veneer, filling with wood filler and sanding. I love the contrast of these colors.
I distressed the piece to show wood tones underneath and to give the piece that shabby chic look.
This is the original hardware. Look at that patina.
This is a side view.
