They said I couldn't paint the walls in my rental???...well..okay------

This is my first attempt at faux marble on Styro-board.....I hate plain walls so when they said I couldn't paint my walls....I painted the Styro-board and the rest is history! What do y'all think?

You clearly have an artistic eye. If I were your landlord, I would probably let you paint. Of course, I have also heard the horror stories, including a cousin who had self-styled "artists" living in their rental. They painted a fake brick wall all the way up the stairs, complete with vulgar graffiti. It was actually very skillfully done, but not the type of thing most people are looking for in a rental.

Wow Therese!! Have you invited your landlord in to see what you created? I love your solution to being told "NO"! You showed 'em!! The veining is quite realistic and sort of misty/wispy - not too heavy handed on the details.

Thank all of you so much! It is all removable so I can put it all back to the blah walls in under 10 minutes! I love the versatility of changing all of it or just a little within an hour. This marble project took about 1 hour to paint and install.

@Susan S....no I have not let my landlord see it. She will be here on Tuesday and I am waiting to see her fall out before I tell her I can take it down when I move...lol..can't wait till she sees the black storm sky on the bedroom ceiling! Again..it's removable within 10 minutes. I am very ambitious as an artist and enjoy beauty in every room! Now I wonder what I will do with the bathroom walls?...hmmmm.....

@ Susan S. to attach the Styro-boards to walls or ceilings I use (wait for it)....A hot glue gun! More on the ceiling of course and less on the walls. When you remove the pieces you simply slide a plastic spatula behind them and "pop" them off. Then peel the glue off and there are no marks!

doesn't disturb so far....hopefully it won't in the future...lol..it holds real well and the styro is so light that it takes very little glue (on the ceiling I use more because of the downward pill from gravity) but "knock wood" none has fallen in the six weeks since I put it up!
