Adrianne C on Aug 18, 2014I have a friend who has a glass shop, and it's really not expensive, or difficult to get new glass cut. There are all kinds of glass now too.Helpful Reply

Carole on Aug 18, 2014Contrary to what everyone has said on here about getting glass cut to size being not expensive, it actually is quite pricey. Well here in Australia it is at any rate, so only guessing you may get a shock if you make enquires about getting new glass cut to fit. If you don't want to go the glass option, then Plywood is a good option. Comes in different weights or depth so I am sure you could find something to suit and is easily cut at home with a hand saw and then sand the edges. Measure twice - cut once for a good fit! Then you can choose to mosaic, decoupage or paint or even add a cushion to it to make little seats. If you wanted to use those tables outside, another option is to paint them up in an outdoor proof paint - and just insert a potted plant into each and use them at the end of a simple bench as a feature.Would suggest the pot rim sit atop the edge(where the glass would have sat) to keep the pot off the ground just a little for good drainage. Use the same plants in each pot for symmetry.1 marked as helpful Reply
