Refinished Porch Swing

I created a seating area under my deck with an old $15 porch swing.
This swing was a steal at $15. It is solid, just needed to be refinished. I hung it on the under side of my deck just outside our lower patio door.
Using a solid white stain and sealant from Olympic Finishes I was able to bring some life back to this piece.
We have a walk out basement and needed a place to gather and relax while the kids play in the backyard. This swing and fire pit are the perfect solution until we decide to put a patio in this space.

Jeanette S on Aug 18, 2014Great job! Isn't paint wonderful. Just a hint...wood should never be stacked against the house...can attract termites! I know we in the south have more of a problem with them, but why take a chance. We bought a house where the previous owner had put down planks under the crawl space for a platform for the lawnmower...caused termites and exterminator (several hundred dollars richer) told us never to put wood next to the house!

Polly Zieper on Aug 18, 2014This is wonderful!!!Did you have to strip or sand the bench first?

Sarah Vanderkooy on Aug 18, 2014@Polly Zieper I did not. Thanksfully the wood was unfinished, just really dirty. If it had anything on it I would have sanded it down first.
