Repurposed 1897 Organ For Entry

We live in a split foyer home and don't have a proper entry as you come in our front door so I have always used the top of our stairs as our "entry". I have wanted to change that area up for a long time and make it more us. Thanks to a free 1897 organ I picked up at a yard sale this summer, that change happened. There were many pieces to the organ that I will use for different projects, but for our entry, these panels were perfect!
I took the side pieces off of the panels (I will save those side pieces for another project) so I was just left with two panels.
The panels have amazing details so I painted them a soft color (Lazy Linen) from Country Chic Paint to really highlight the details. When the paint dried, I used sandpaper to distress them.
In the end, this repurposed organ looks beautiful in our entry! I love how the panels look like art pieces now!
I shared the entire transformation over at Country Chic Paint Blog. Check it out! The links to the post are on my blog! Can't wait to see what other things I can do with the many other pieces to the organ!

Love them - those look wonderful! A few years ago I turned our families pump organ into a bench seat - I had to add a support leg in the middle, otherwise it was super easy and looks great. I'm an artist and used the stoppers and keys in artwork along with the wood from the interior - it had such great patina I couldn't just toss it all out
